PALERMO BALLARO MARKET
The Ballarò market is the oldest food market in Palermo. The fact that it has been considered a must-see in the city since the 10th century shows how deeply rooted it is in local history and culture. Stretching from Piazza Ballarò along Via Ballarò to Corso Tukory, just a few steps from the central station, this authentic Sicilian market has not been embellished or altered for tourists. The market therefore offers a cultural as well as a culinary experience, quite unique in Italy.
Aeolian islands
The Aeolian Islands, are a volcanic archipelago north of Sicily in the Tyrrhenian Sea in Italy.
For more than two centuries, the islands have been an ideal site for volcanology and geology studies. They have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2000.
CASTLE OF CACCAMO
Castello di Caccamo is one of the largest and best preserved Norman castles in Sicily and one of the largest in Italy . The castle is built on a steep cliff, 521 meters above sea level. It overlooks the surrounding countryside, including the valley of the San Leonardo River and the artificial lake of Rosmarina.
VILLA PALAGONIA
Villa Palagonia is one of the most famous residences in Italy. Located in the town of Bagheria, 15 km from Palermo. The villa was built in 1705 by the architect Tommaso Napoli and is one of the earliest examples of Sicilian Baroque. However, its fame is mainly due to the statues of monsters with human figures that decorate its garden and earned it the nickname "Villa of Monsters".
